Tuesday Jul 27, 2021
Tuesday Jul 27, 2021
Virtual vet visits are relatively new and have been gaining momentum in the veterinary space since the pandemic started and access to vet care has been challenging.
While virtual visits aren’t a replacement for normal vet visits, they can be super helpful when you have quick questions or want to know if the signs your dog is displaying requires a trip to the ER or can wait for an appointment.
On this episode of Simply Pets with Shannon Gregoire, we meet Alex Chieng, co-founder of Vetsie- an all-in-one communication platform that helps virtually connect pet owners with veterinarians. Alex tells us all about how virtual vet visits are the future of pet care.

Vet Candy Magazine: Special edition Customer Experience
Thursday Jul 22, 2021
Thursday Jul 22, 2021
In this issue of Vet Candy Magazine, we are focusing on the customer experience. A positive customer experience promotes loyalty, helps you retain customers, and encourages brand advocacy. It is important to provide a remarkable experience and make them want to continue doing business with you — customers are your best resource for growing your brand awareness.
We are also introducing you to a man who’s on a mission to make the customer experience amazing at veterinary clinics. Alexandre Contreras VT, C.C.M.T, Inventor, knows first hand that one of the worst veterinary experiences that can happen to a pet is having a nail cut too short and bleed during a nail trim. Not only is the pet upset, the pet owner is as well. That’s why he created a cool new nail clipping tool that keeps that from happening.
This program is brought to you by Merck Animal Health, makers of Nobivac vaccines.

Welcome to this issue of Vet Candy Magazine, where we are talking all about the eyes. Patients are brought to us for a variety of reasons, and according to Healthy Paws Pet Insurance, the eyes are one of the most common. Healthy Paws evaluated nearly 800,000 customer claims filed from January 1 to December 31, 2019 and identified the top ten accidents and illnesses for both cats and dogs. Eye conditions topped the list of both species.
For this issue, we are highlighting Dr. DJ Haeussler, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist and owner of the Animal Eye Institute. You may recognize Dr. DJ if you follow his social media profile, where he posts incredibly graphic images of ocular disease. Talking loss with Reagan Pasternak
Wednesday Jun 09, 2021
Wednesday Jun 09, 2021
On this episode of Vet Candy IRL, Shannon Gregoire is joined by actress, Reagan J. Pasternak (HBO’s “Sharp Objects”, Netflix/HULU/HBO’s “Being Erica”, BET’s “Ms. Pat”) who just released her debut book,“Griffin’s Heart: Mourning Your Pet With No Apologies” (Creatures Align Press; Hardcover; $27.99; For sale now on Amazon.com)
The culture of grief when it comes to our animal companions leaves many bereaved pet owners feeling lost and isolated. Too often, the expectation from friends and family is that the mourning period should last no more than a few days to weeks. But the loss of an animal can be equally as devastating as a human loss — it’s just that the support and resources for this brand of grief have been in short supply.
