As an integrative veterinarian, she is on a mission to provide a balanced approach of both science-based medical practice and the art of healing. For this University of Hawaii and Colorado State University (CSU) veterinary school graduate, making animals feel better includes things like acupuncture, rehabilitation, bodywork, real food, and so much more.
Like her marine animal veterinarian godmother before her, she is committed to maximizing health and minimizing pain and suffering of animals – using whatever methods are best for them.

Originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Abby Seeley is a third-year veterinary student at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. Prior to entering the world of vet med, she attended Penn State University where she graduated with a B.S. in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences as well as a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science.

Every veterinarian has experienced burnout at one time or another. It is one of the biggest pressures on the industry, alongside student debt and suicide rates. After 12 years as an ER veterinarian, Dr. Ivan Zakharenkov was among the many veterinarians who are so burned out, they knew a change was the only option.
After so many years fighting to save animals on the frontlines, Dr. Ivan made the switch from helping animals, to helping other veterinarians. He chose to create a company instead with the focus on helping vet offices prevent burnout in the workplace.
That's why he created Galaxy Vets- a veterinary group committed to providing access to care for pets when and where they need it while supporting the mental health and well-being of our healthcare teams.

Dr. Heather “Hezy ” Anholt is a graduate of Western College of Veterinarian Medicine in 2013 and completed a veterinary zoo internship in 2016 at the Assiniboine Park Zoo.
Dr. Anholt has worked with polar bears in Canada, chimpanzees in Nigeria, and elephants in India, and she co-hosted the NatGeoWild documentary series Jungle Animal Rescue in India in 2019. She is currently based in Malawi where she works as a wildlife veterinarian and is undertaking Ph.D. research on wildlife health through the University of British Columbia.

As a child, did you ask lots of questions?
For many veterinary professionals, a desire to know how things worked (such as biology, chemistry, physics, etc.) came naturally when we were young. In fact, a love of learning is needed to grow and constantly improve in this field. There is always a new technology or device to try, an emerging medication to explore, and cutting-edge surgical procedure to practice.
For Dr. Fabian Rivers, curiosity played a large role in his success.
When asked what three qualities most contributed to his achievements, he answered with “curiosity, community, and composure.”
Quite fittingly, his mission is to, “Remain curious about life.”
