On this episode of Desk Wench Confessions, Caitlin meets Dr. Jeff Tinsley, a veterinary dermatologist from the Animal Dermatology Clinic of Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Jeff talks about some scary ears, stinky skin, and dealing with Karens and Chads along the way.
Dr. Jeff Tinsley is originally from Atlanta, GA. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biological Science from the University of Georgia and his degree in veterinary medicine from Tuskegee University. Following veterinary school, he completed a rotating internship at Blue Pearl San Antonio and spent one year in general practice in San Antonio before beginning his dermatology internship at Animal Dermatology Clinic. Beyond dermatology, his biggest passions are connecting with clients, outstanding medical care, and being an advocate for his patients. In his spare time, he loves taking his dog "Renly" to the park, cooking, crossfit, and trying out local breweries and eateries.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I hope you are humming that song now because my brain can’t help but fill in “with kids jingle belling and everyone telling you be of good cheer!”
On a serious note, I do believe it is the most wonderful time of the year but sometimes I find myself struggling to go along with the rest of this song and be of good cheer. Instead of slowing down and enjoying the magic that comes with the season, I find myself going at a pace that isn’t sustainable. Then in the blink of an eye, the holidays are over and I am left wondering if I was even present for any of it. I somehow chose to focus on the things that didn’t really matter and missed out on the ones that did.
Can you relate? Maybe it’s because you are drowning in your already overflowing “to-do” list or the mere thought of how much money it’s going to take to make the holidays a reality. Or maybe you are approaching the first holiday season without a loved one or better yet, the first where you are focused on remaining sober in a sea of festive spirits. Not very long ago, fashion in the medical world was non-existent. Scrubs were boxy, ill-fitting, and mostly came in unflattering shades of bile green. Fortunately, with the passage of time, medical fashion has evolved. Now we have choices that include fashionable, trendy scrubs with flattering fits and a rainbow assortment of available colors.
We all deserve to look and feel good at work. Fashion is a way we can express our personalities. Without it, we would be indistinguishable from our coworkers – and, as you’ll find out in this issue, fashion can also exhibit one’s beliefs and values.
In this issue, we introduce you to twin veterinarians, Dr. Alison Shen and Dr. Audrey Shen who have teamed up with fashion expert and entrepreneur Rebecca Lau Marsh to create 21Scrubs - a company that offers a range of stylish and fashion-savvy scrubs that are practical, flattering, comfortable, and durable.
